Library Journal Review
Raised by her great uncle Barney, Kat grew up sheltered from the world until the day her uncle turned on her. She finds refuge in the Fluttering Forest in a household of seven little men. When the Queen of Mayhem discovers that the daughter she believed dead is actually alive and rivals her own beauty, she dedicates herself to one goal: Kat's death. VERDICT Lemon's retelling of the classic fairy tale differs radically in some areas from previous versions, but Kat, her friend Jeremy (who is more than he seems), and her seven smaller friends stand out as sympathetic, likeable individuals. With the resurgence of folk tales in popular culture (Once Upon a Time; Grimm; Snow White and the Huntsman), this will find plenty of adult and YA readers. (c) Copyright 2012.
