School Library Journal Review
PreS-Baby loves to walk around town sitting on his father's shoulders. "Way up high, you're driving Daddy!/Big, broad shoulders-comfy seat./His hands hold you like a seat belt./Let's drive Daddy down the street." Together the youngster and his dad walk under an apple tree, wave to neighbors, visit the park, and end up eating ice cream. In the companion book, baby is crawling on the bed to say hi to his mother. "Sleepy Mama's not awake yet-/Shhh- be gentle- off you go!" Quietly, he climbs past his mom's feet, knees, and hips before reaching her arms. He makes her giggle and the text proclaims, "Baby wake-ups are the best!" Illustrations done in soft pastel colors complement the daily activities. These small, slice-of-life books will appeal to toddlers and their families.-Kristin de Lacoste, South Regional Public Library, Pembroke Pines, FL (c) Copyright 2010.
