Davy Crockett

Legend has it that Davy Crockett, at the age of three, wrestled a bear. It's also been said that he could smile a raccoon out of a tree. As with most legends, this one was based in some truth. Gr 2-5-There are not many good biographies about American legends available, and readers will find this graphic-novel series unique and interesting. The information about these six trailblazing men who influenced American history in some way is clearly presented in large, brightly colored panels and through dialogue between the characters and corresponding captions.
