Summary
The author, retired from several careers involving teaching and photography, has mined his photo collection assembled over 50 years, to present a four-volume "series" portraying the physical and cultural geography of various portions of the Pacific Northwest. The presentation features his color photos on virtually every page, with text on various aspects of the history, geology, and development of the region. Though carefully written and cleanly designed and printed, the volume has a home-made quality and must be described as something other than a textbook, a travel guide, an art photography book, or a scholarly work. Its appeal would probably be to grade school students, or to others seeking an informal survey. The bibliography is not classified and seems to be for all four volumes of the set. The publisher is at 307 Emerald Drive, Billings, MT 59105. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
