On Christmas morning, Daisy and Sam are playing in the snow when they see something soar through the sky. They are convinced it's a snow angel But as they watch, the angel swoops, flutters, and tumbles to the ground. PreS-Gr 2-On Christmas morning, two mice wake to find it snowing. After thanking their mother for their presents of berries and nuts, Daisy and Sam rush out to play, only to see what they think is a Christmas angel soaring in the sky. It's really a hungry goose who has been blown off course in the storm; after the mice feed it and the exhausted bird rests a while, it thanks them and flies away, leaving an armful of feathers in its wake. The youngsters return home to show their mother the gift. "`Goose feathers!' she exclaimed. `We'll feel as if we're sleeping on clouds!'" The appealing artwork features the adorable mice and a dazzling bird with glitter on its feathers.
