JULIE STIEGEMEYER and CAROL BAICKER-McKEE last teamed up for Cheep! Cheep! , which was named a Best Book of the Year by both Parenting and Nick Jr. magazines. Julie is a poet and the author of several picture books. She lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Carol is a self-taught illustrator who also holds a PhD in child psychology and is a contributor to Nick Jr. Magazine. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

PreS-This colorful picture book features a family of cuddly terrycloth chicks with clay feet and features, adorned in knit caps and scarves. They play in the snow, sing, make cookies, decorate the tree, read, and hang up their stockings. Their excitement on Christmas morning is palpable. Though adults may wonder why the parents are chicks and not chickens, children will be charmed by the brightly bordered textural pictures and the lively, expressive family.
