Daniel Wiseman likes to draw. He likes it so much, he's made a career out of it. Usually he draws animals wearing clothes, or kids enjoying a good dance party. However, when prodded, he's been known to draw pretty much anything else. Daniel currently lives in St. Louis, MO with his beautiful wife and his equally beautiful son. When he isn't drawing, he can usually be found doing one of these great things: Perfecting his biscuit recipe, hiking up a mountain in some faraway location, singing loudly in his car, riding his bike on the mean streets of St. Louis, or napping.

School Library Journal Review
PreS-K-A young girl, dressed like a veterinarian, implores readers to help her take care of a variety of pets including a cat, bird, dog, lizard, horse, and caterpillar, with a different child assisting each animal. The end of the story shows all the children and pets together and instructs readers on the importance of, and different ways to, take care of a pet. Written in snappy, bouncy rhymes and featuring pictures on expansive spreads, this book is an excellent choice for group sharing. Each page gives an instruction for readers so they can mimic the actions pictured such as helping feed the bird or wash the dog, which encourages pretend play. The illustrations, created digitally with PhotoShop, feature bold, bright colors, making it eye-catching for young readers. The lessons about pet care, although appropriately simple for its young audience, are a good introduction to teaching children how to treat animals. VERDICT A fun, interactive read-aloud perfect for a -pet-themed storytime. Recommended.--Laura J. Giunta, Garden City Public Library, NY © Copyright 2018.
