Nothing could have prepared the two young cowboys for their encounter with the approaching rider. A golden Palomino galloped up the dusty ranch house road that late summer day. The horse's flowing yellow mane and tail were a perfect match for the rider's own flaxen mane. The startled cowboys stared in disbelief at the stunningly beautiful, blue-eyed blonde coming toward them. After they had ridden for several days along the border between Idaho and Nevada in search of work with a cattle outfit, the gorgeous woman before them appeared like an apparition. Regaining his composure, the younger of the two asked, "Can you tell us where we can find the boss?" "I am the boss," replied the woman firmly. Excerpted from Remarkable Idaho Women by Lynn E.
